SEND

Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)

At both Crosfield and Selhurst Nursery School, we are fully committed to the inclusion of all children. We provide an inviting, safe, nurturing environment in which children at different stages of development, can play and learn together. We have extensive experience and expertise in working with children with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities, and involve parents, in every aspect of a child’s learning and development.
Our staff teams use a number of strategies and resources to support the varying needs of our children, including Makaton, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Intensive Interaction and attention building activities. Both schools make daily use of a designated Sensory Room in which to work with small groups of children on specific targets.

We also draw on support and advice from a range of professionals, for example, speech therapists, educational psychologists and occupational therapists. If your child has specific medical needs we will work together to ensure these needs are accommodated.

Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDCo), across both Crosfield and Selhurst Nursery School is Anne Addo.
Our Governor with responsibility for SEND is Jenny Bennett.

Our SEND policy can be found in our Policies section, here:
